Stay Motivated on your Fitness Journey!

An article posted 2 years ago on January 14, 2019 on the Life Network health page states how there are 5 ways to keep your motivation to exercise. This article is stating how every new year we have this resolution to become more fit but we can become discouraged fast and stay with our same habits as last year. The article presents five valid ways to keep going on this journey to a healthier lifestyle and not become discouraged. The article also shows a picture of a man running through a path. Exercising on a regular basis is not an easy thing to do but keeping your motivation through friends, goals, and having fun will get you one step further in your journey.

A Google search i did on how to keep your motivation to exercise brought up many ads on personal training and trainers but it also brought up an article giving you seven tips to stay motivated. Some of the tips stated were also included in the 5 ways to keep your motivation article such as working out with peers, finding fun and new ways to enjoy exercise, etc. An article published in September 24, 2014 says “Fitness, as we know it today, seems to be a relatively modern invention – something that started vaguely in the 70s with jogging and Jazzercise.” Exercise itself is obviously from far more long ago than just the 70’s. In this article it says that people back then did not see it as working out but they saw it more as a lifestyle. Our generation today exercise is more of a burden than something you do that will benefit you.

Finding ways to stay motivated can be refuted because many of people do not see exercise as a good thing. People start working out because they see these social media influencers and then they see themselves in the mirror and think they are not worthy enough or they just do not look like them. Them wanting to look like social media stars does not get them very far because they easily become discouraged and start binging and they start to develop disorders. These motivation tips and things simply just wont work for people who develop disorders because it is out of their hands now they do not have control of the situation anymore.

Finding motivation for physical activity and fitness can be overwhelming and difficult. But motivation helps us reach one more step further to our destination/goal. Whether we find motivation through our peers, or reaching some type of goal, or even just making something enjoyable, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to do better and do something beneficial to us.
